Overnight Pet Care Facility in Frederick, MD
Physical structure: Pet care includes use of individual inside areas and outside covered runs. Inside areas are heated or air conditioned with their personal items such as bedding, familiar toys and treats left inside. The inside areas vary with the size of the pet but the areas are large enough that pets from the same family can be boarded together. The covered outside runs are 4 feet by 24 feet or larger. The dogs are all boarded separately except those from the same family. A translucent fiberglass roof that affords shade and protection from rain and snow covers the runs. The outside runs and the inside runs are separate and not the “thru the wall” type connection. That way all the dogs get individual handling when going between inside and outside. When outside the dogs are separated only by chain link so they can see the rest of the guest population and visit with their neighbors while not feeling threatened by actually having to interact with another strange dog or feel like they must defend their territory. This encourages exercising as the dogs jog back and forth along their individual run. On a daily basis, pets visit the same areas both inside and out, so they become less anxious and more familiar with the facility and their daily routine.
